An error occurred during directory enumeration
« on: January 11, 2007, 10:15:16 AM »
Lately the hard drive on my Gateway laptop started getting munched with errors and Windows XP home would not boot.  I booted from the Windows CD and chose "R" for repair.  When it asks you which install you would like to repair, to my dismay the C:\ was not there but rather a D:/MiniNT was there.  This appears to be a recovery partition placed there by Gateway.  Since that was my only option, I chose D:\ and got a DOS prompt.  From there I was able to change to the C:\ partition, but the "dir" command gave me "An error occurred during directory enumeration".  Not good!  What should I do?

Seems like you have your partitions and data a bot scrambled on there.
I must travel the path of conquest... power is necessary in order to walk that path.
