Blank screen when booting up Windows XP Home
« on: June 24, 2006, 10:44:04 AM »
I have a system running Windows XP Home edition and when I boot up it gets through the BIOS and all to the point where Windows should begin loading but the screen just goes blank black.  Any idea how I can fix this?  I need help!
I must travel the path of conquest... power is necessary in order to walk that path.

That could be one of many things causing that.  First try booting in safe mode.  You do that by pressing F8 on the bios bootup (which should be appearing before your "black screen of death").  If that doesnt work, Try removing any unneeded hardware from the system.  Remember to remove the power cable from the box before doing so.
