No Power: Monitor is in power save mode
« on: February 11, 2008, 04:46:47 PM »
I have an older Dell desktop system and a Dell monitor.  I recently installed a PCI Network Adapter (NIC) and DSL service from Qwest.  Since then, I am having a very strange problem.  When I boot down Windows XP for the night and then come back in the morning, I turn on the PC and monitor, but instead of displaying the Windows splash screen or anything, I simply get a message, "Monitor is in power save mode.  Activate using PC".  No mater what I try, the monitor will not power up.  I have to unplug all the power cords and recommended them all then reboot and it will work after that until next time.  Can anyone help with this problem?
I must travel the path of conquest... power is necessary in order to walk that path.
