Virus? C:\WINDOWS\system32\DL5EB7~1.EXE
« on: February 19, 2007, 01:21:20 AM »
I started getting MS-DOS windows opening up at bootup (about 4 or 5) and corresponding pop-up error messages.  Also I noticed I am getting advertisements mysteriously appearing in Internet Explorer.  Also, when I try to reboot, I get an error message pop-up:
Quote
winlogon.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x3bf22e52" referenced memory at "0x0002e445". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate the progeam
Click CANCEL to debug the program
If I click OK I get the "blue screen of death".  Smells like a virus / spyware combination.  Please help!

You are right, it is probably a virus / spyware combination.  I suggest to download and install DrWeb CureIt (free) and Spyware Sweeper (free) from http://www.download.com

Run them bot and reboot.  DO that a few times.  Let me know if the problem continues.
