Ping a server without going to website
« on: August 07, 2007, 11:08:19 AM »
Want to ping a server and don't want to go to a web site to do it?

Easy use the cmd command

1. type <WIN>-R (brings up run box)
2. type cmd
3. type ping [server]
example ping zelo.com

Even easier...

1. type <WIN>-R (brings up run box)
2. type cmd /k ping [server]
example: cmd /k ping zelo.com

the /k keeps the window open so you can see the results

you can do /c to close afterwards but watch out it is fast (but great to use to see if a server is up and you don't have to worry about closing the command prompt box!
